My box of DVDs arrived earlier this week; 214 episodes on 50 dvds, with 4 extra bonus dvds. This set is the complete SG-1 experience. I’m happy to say it has the full 90 minute version of Thread (Season 8), and the unedited (R-Rated) version of th Children of the Gods (Pilot). The show is based on the Stargate Movie, and while the movie isn’t all that amazing, the creators of the show have adapted the idea wonderfully to the small screen.
Science-Fiction in the past has dealt with space ships, and the people on board. Stargate avoids this by the use of the gates with the team members walking through the gates in each episode. The highlight of the show is the script, with witty one-liners by O’Neill and occasionally Teal’c. It is a wonderful show, definitely worth picking up.
