I watched Mission Impossible 3 last night, first day first show. Overall, I thought it was a pretty good movie. There were parts where it was predictable, and you knew when some things were going to happen. The most annoying thing was the setup of the intro. Basically, we see the first fifteen minutes of the movie, then flash back, and get to see everything that led up to the intro, and then there are another like fifteen minutes that finish the movie off. Now, while this might be cool thing for TV shows to capture the audience and keep them interested, there is no point in doing that for a movie. You have already paid $10 for the movie, you’re not going to get up and leave because the first five minutes are boring. What’s more, this intro setup has been beaten to death. Too many movies, shows, and books have used it already. Come up with something new.
Beyond that, the movie was pretty good. Not as complicated as the first two. Which is good, since the second one was really hard to understand the first time through.
I think the best part of the movie were the fifteen minutes of trailers. We saw trailers for Superman, X3, Pirates of the Caribbean and a bunch of other ones. But, these three movies, along with Da Vinci Code look awesome, and I can’t wait for them.
