I took a slightly earlier train home today because I needed to get some more work done when I got home. Lucky for me, we had problems, again… We make it through Jamaica normally, but soon after we stop at the Queens Village Station because there is a “pedestrian on, or near the track” at the Floral Park station, and they would move us over to the other track and we would be on our way. After about 5 minutes of waiting, the tell us that there has been an accident at Floral Park, and that the Main Lines are shut down, they have no choice but to go back to the Jamaica Station and then let us take some other train at that point.
So, we wait another five, ten minutes and finally start moving East again (the correct, to Hicksvile, way); this time they say that they need to go East so that they can get behind a signal to go West to Jamaica. But instead of going all the way back to Jamaica, they will stop at Queens Village and let us get off if we want to. Eventually, after another ten minutes, the train finally starts moving again. But instead of going West to Jamaica, we finally get to go East!
After we pass the Floral Park Station, the train resumes the normal speed and we make to Hicksville 25 minutes later. All in all, the train was about 55 minutes late.
